Qsurf Klitmøller

En lille femtrins raket til at padle korrekt!

Hvem er klar på Qsurf her post sommerferie??⚡️ PADDLE TECHNIQUE ⚡️ It can be exhausting right? 🥵 Even more so when your technique isn’t right, you’ll end up burning out before you've even caught any waves! Sound familiar? 😫 No worries, we’ve got 5 quick tips to help you paddle better: Remember❗️The better your paddle, the quicker you’ll be and the more waves you’ll catch! 1️⃣ POSITIONING! It is SO important to keep straight and centred. Imagine there’s a straight line down the middle of your board. Line yourself up with this line, staying on top of it so half your body is on either side of this imaginary centre line. Don’t lie too far forward, try to keep the nose roughly a couple of inches out the water. Don’t lie too far back, this will create drag and a lot of extra work for yourself. Keep your toes just off the tail of the board (this works well with bigger boards). 2️⃣ LEGS! Keep your legs together (It’s more elegant this way 😂 ) and raise your feet slightly. 3️⃣ ARM STROKES! Keep your fingers closed but relaxed, don’t spread them too far apart. Paddle in LONG freestyle swim strokes close to your board, one after the other. Dig deep, pushing as much water as you can from the front of the board to the back. Keep your arms bent, this will allow you to reach forward for your next paddle. Try not to make a splash, fingertips are what should enter the water first. 4️⃣ ELBOWS! Keep your elbows high. Keep your hand and forearm in a vertical position at the start of your stroke. When your hand and forearm are vertical you will then be able to hold the water and propel yourself forward with a greater surface area for a greater length of time. 5️⃣ HEAD! Keep your head up and arch your back. Try 'push' your hips into the board whilst tightening your core, this will help with your mobility and stability. 🆓 BONUS TIP Control your breathing with each paddle. Keep a good rhythm. Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale… These are some very basic tips for paddling and we’ll be diving into this more throughout our coaching weekends and on our Journal page. So keep an eye out for more soon! Does this help? Let us know 👇🏽 #womenandwaves #surfing #surftips
